Hardy Weinberg Equation


Step 1: Find any given information  


           q2 = .23     Population: 1000

Step 2: Take the square root of .23 to find q. One you found q, subtract it from 1 to find p.


            q2     √.23   
                    q = .47
                    .47 - 1 = .53   therefore, p = .53

Step 3: Get p2 by squaring p. After getting your p and q values you plug them in into 2pq to get that value.   

               p = .53      p^2 = .53^2 = .28
               2pq = 2(.47)(.53) = .49

Step 4: Make sure your calculations are correct ! Use the following equation to check.

            p^2 + 2pq + q^2 = 1
           .28 + .49 + .23 = 1

Homozygous dominant individual: p^2 : .28
Homozygous recessive individual : q^2 : .23
Frequency of dominant allele: p : .53
Frequency of recessive allele:q : .47
Heterozygous individual : 2pq: .49

Step 5: Multiple p^2, q^2, and 2pq by the population individuals to find geneotypes

               p^2 = .28 x 1000 = 280
               q^2 = .23 x 1000 = 230
               2pq = .49 x 1000 = 490

Frequency of Dominant Alleles: p = .53   = 53%
Frequency of Recessive Alleles: q = .47  = 47%

California Black Worms

               
     
              Thoughtout my research I believe that the three water substances were plain, stimulant and depressant. After analyzing the data I believe that water A was the plain due to the low numbers of pulse rate. Water B was the stimulant since it was stable. C would be the depressant, The depressant has parasympathetic responses, in similarity to the worms. The black worms were not stable and had an odd value of pulse rate compared to the one before. I came to this conclusion thanks to the data we collected in class and resources proved online.

In this picture, you could see I am with a rose at my house. I never noticed that we had a branch that grew beautiful roses. This flower was not cut by me, it was in a vase inside my house but it was from the branch in my backyard.

                                                         
This picture was also taken in my house but thanks to Ms. Moreno making us take a selfie with a fruit, I was able to discover that we have fruit in my house.

                                                          
This picture was taken at Walmart. In my background a show a variety of fishes. I didn't buy any but I was able to see that the fishes are pretty cheap and that certain animal foods are expensive.
